Product Details

Hornbeam is a member of the birch family and noted for the hardness of its bark. It is a good substitute for beech where a deciduous hedge is needed in a wetter spot than beech will tolerate. It burns slow and hot which saw it used since prehistoric times as fuel for iron smelting. Its distinctive fluted bark makes it an attractive tree for the garden.
